This Legend Of Zelda Fan Is Recreating A Link To The Past In The Unity Engine
Grezzo has been busy releasing remasters of certain Zelda games for a number of years now and most recently helped out with the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on Switch. Ever since we saw the charming diorama-like graphics in this upcoming release, it's made us wonder what other retro Zelda games would look like, if they were given a 3D makeover.
Obviously, we're not alone, either, as a talented individual who goes by the alias BlobVanDam online has been working on recreating the iconic Super Nintendo title The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past in the Unity engine. The 3D animator started the project back in April this year after hearing "a rumour" there would be A Link To The Past remake released in the future. Since then, he's made quite a lot of progress. Take a look below:
The new version of Link's Awakening by Nintendo EPD and Grezzo is supposedly running on the Unreal Engine. According to Digital Foundry, this is the same engine as the one Yoshi's Crafted World used. To see more of BlobVanDam's work, check out his Twitter and YouTube.
